ANA B772 near Tokyo on Sep 25th 2010, engine shut down in flight
An ANA All Nippon Airways Boeing 777-200, registration JA709A performing flight NH-1291 from Tokyo Haneda (Japan) to Seoul (South Korea) with 307 people on board, was climbing out of Tokyo about 10 minutes into the flight when the crew needed to shut the left hand engine (PW4090) down. The airplane returned to Tokyo’s Haneda Airport for a safe landing about 30 minutes after departure.
ANA said, that the EGT of the engine rose, at the same time oil quantity and pressure dropped and the engine began to vibrate.
